Hacking is fun:
You may think why the topic is " Hacking is fun". Today, there are many pranks carried out over the world. Using kali Linux you can also prank someone by spoofing SMS. Yeah, you heard it right. Linux provides with several tools which can be used for a serious purpose and also for some fun. Let's straight get into the topic as it is going to be fun.
- Open terminal and type setoolkit. If you don't know what is setoolkit read my previous article.
- Here, you can see that there are several options. We need to get into Social-Engineering Attacks so we will be typing 1 to get into it.
- You will see this window. Here you can see at 7 number there is SMS Spoof Attack Vector. So you shall type 7 to go through it.
- Here, you can see two options: Perform a SMS Spoofing Attack and Create a Social-Engineering Templates. If you wanna make your own template then you can choose 2 but here we will be using pre-made templates by Linux so we will be choosing 1.
- After choosing 1 you can see again two options arise: SMS Attack Single Phone Number or SMS Attack Mass SMS. This gives you the opportunity to send spoof SMS to a single or multiple friends. Today, we will be focusing on single phone number so type 1.
- Then, it asks you to write the victim's phone number. Note that phone number must include a country code. If you don't know the country code then you can google it.
- After you enter the phone number of the victim, you can again see two options appearing in the window: Pre-Defined Template or One-Time Use SMS. You can use pre-defined templates defined by Linux or you can write your own SMS only for one-time. That means, your SMS won't get saved. Let's create SMS, so select 2.
- After selecting 2 you can see that it ask the source number phone. So write your phone number. Note to include the country code.
- Here, you can see that it ask the user to compose an SMS and when you hit enter it ask you to compose next line of the body. If you don't wish to write next line then you can terminate the process by pressing ctrl+c. This will terminate the processes and promotes you to next step.
- After terminating the process you can see Linux giving you option on how to use SMS spoofing: SohoOs(buggy), Lleida.net(pay), SMSGANG(pay), Android Emulator(Need to install Android Emulator).
- Here, first one is free and 2 and 3 are paid and the last one is a software called Android Emulator. Better use paid version but you can also use the first one. After you select, the message gets send hiding your identity.
